Hampton Carpet Cleaners Service Terms and Conditions
These Terms and Conditions set out the basis on which Hampton Carpet Cleaners provides domestic and commercial carpet cleaning and related floor care services in the UK. By making a booking, confirming an appointment, or allowing work to begin, you agree to be bound by these terms. Please read them carefully before instructing any carpet cleaning service, upholstery treatment, stain removal, or optional protective treatment.
In these Terms, “we”, “us”, and “our” refer to Hampton Carpet Cleaners, and “you” or “the customer” refer to the person, business, landlord, tenant, or agent requesting the service. These terms apply to all standard carpet cleaning, deep cleaning, maintenance cleaning, stain treatment, and any related service supplied by us unless we agree otherwise in writing.
Service descriptions are provided in good faith, but the exact outcome of any carpet cleaning job will depend on factors such as fibre type, age, wear, previous treatments, staining, underlay condition, and room environment. While we aim to achieve a high standard on every appointment, some stains, odours, dye damage, permanent marks, or fibre distortion may not be fully removable. Nothing in these terms guarantees that every mark will be removed or that all items will be restored to a “like new” condition.
Booking process begins when you request a quotation, estimate, or appointment for Hampton carpet cleaners services. Any quotation may be based on the information supplied by you and may be subject to inspection on arrival. You are responsible for providing accurate details about room size, access, carpet condition, item type, stain issues, and any special requirements. If the actual circumstances differ materially from the information provided, we may revise the price, scope, or timing of the work before proceeding.
Once a date and time have been agreed, your booking will be treated as provisional until confirmed by us. A booking becomes binding when we accept it, whether in writing, by message, email, or through other recorded confirmation. We may need to re-schedule if a technician is delayed, if equipment fails, if a previous job over-runs, or if circumstances outside our control arise. We will make reasonable efforts to notify you promptly and arrange an alternative appointment.
To ensure the carpet cleaning service can be delivered efficiently, you must provide safe access to the property and the areas to be cleaned. This includes reasonable access to water, electricity, parking where needed, and clear working space. If access is restricted, the job may take longer, may require additional charges, or may be cancelled if it cannot safely proceed. You must also ensure that pets, valuables, and fragile items are removed or secured before we arrive.
Payments must be made in the manner and by the time agreed at booking or upon completion of the work. We may request a deposit for certain appointments, larger jobs, out-of-hours services, or commercial carpet cleaners work. Any deposit secures your booking and may be applied to the final invoice. Unless otherwise agreed, the full balance is due immediately upon completion of the service.
We accept payment by the methods notified at the time of booking. If payment is not received when due, we reserve the right to charge reasonable recovery costs, suspend further work, or withhold any final documentation until the account is settled. If your payment method is declined or reversed, you remain responsible for the outstanding amount, together with any bank or administrative fees reasonably incurred by us.
All prices are stated inclusive or exclusive of VAT only where expressly indicated. If a quotation is based on average room conditions, the final price may change where the actual carpet cleaning requirements differ, including additional stain treatment, furniture moving beyond the agreed scope, heavily soiled areas, or extra drying support. Any additional charges will be explained before further work is undertaken, wherever reasonably possible.
Cancellations and rescheduling may be made by giving us reasonable notice before the appointment time. Where you cancel or significantly reschedule too close to the scheduled visit, we may charge a cancellation fee to cover reserved labour, travel, and administration costs. The amount of any fee will be reasonable and proportionate to the notice given, the nature of the booking, and any loss we reasonably suffer as a result.
If we need to cancel or postpone a booking, we will aim to offer an alternative date as soon as practicable. We are not liable for delays caused by traffic, weather, staff illness, equipment failure, supplier issues, or other events beyond our reasonable control. In the event of repeated access problems, unsafe conditions, or non-payment, we may cancel the service without liability beyond refunding any payment due to be returned under these terms.
If you are a consumer and have made an online or distance booking, you may have statutory rights under UK consumer law, including cancellation rights where applicable. However, if you request that the carpet cleaning service begins before any cooling-off period ends, you may be required to pay for the work already performed if you later cancel. Any such rights apply in accordance with the law and do not affect our ability to recover reasonable costs for completed services.
Liability for loss or damage is limited as set out in this section. We will exercise reasonable care and skill in providing Hampton carpet cleaners services, but we do not accept liability for pre-existing damage, hidden defects, weak seams, colour loss, shrinkage caused by unsuitable materials, or deterioration resulting from age or previous cleaning history. Customers are strongly advised to disclose any known issues before work starts.
We are not responsible for damage caused by items left in place, unstable furniture, unsecured objects, or inadequate instructions given by you. Where furniture is moved as part of the carpet cleaning process, it will only be moved if it is reasonably safe to do so. Heavy, fragile, antique, or electronically connected items may be left in place. Any minor marks, compression, or changes caused by moving furniture in a normal and careful manner do not automatically amount to negligence.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising from a booking, whether in contract, tort, or otherwise, shall be limited to the amount paid or payable for the specific service giving rise to the claim. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded under UK law.
Waste regulations and disposal are an important part of our carpet cleaning service. We will handle wastewater, removed residues, and minor waste generated by the service in a lawful and environmentally responsible manner. You agree that any waste produced during the cleaning process may include dirty extraction water, captured debris, textile residues, and packaging materials, all of which will be managed in line with applicable UK waste management requirements.
Where waste disposal requires special handling, such as the separation of contaminated materials, disposal of cleaning chemical containers, or transport of waste water, we will follow reasonable procedures and may apply an additional charge if this was not included in the original quotation. We may refuse to use any premises, drains, or disposal points that we believe are unsafe, unsuitable, or not compliant with relevant regulations.
You must inform us in advance if the property contains materials or conditions that may trigger special waste handling duties, such as unusual contamination, mould concerns, biological hazards, chemical spills, or other regulated substances. We do not provide specialist hazardous waste services unless expressly agreed in writing. If such conditions are discovered during a carpet cleaners appointment, we may pause or stop work until the risk has been assessed and a safe plan agreed.
Customers must ensure that the areas to be cleaned are reasonably prepared before the technician arrives. This includes removing loose items, securing breakables, and disclosing any carpets that are very old, badly fitted, water-damaged, or otherwise fragile. If we are asked to clean carpets or rugs that are unsuitable for wet cleaning or standard treatment, we may refuse the service, recommend alternative methods, or proceed only at your risk after clear warning has been given.
Guarantees are limited to the express statements we make in writing. Any performance estimates, drying times, stain reduction statements, or care suggestions are provided as professional opinion rather than a promise of specific results. Different fibres and treatments react differently to cleaning. You acknowledge that a professional carpet cleaner may identify issues only once work has begun, and that unexpected results can occur despite reasonable care.
Complaints and issues should be reported to us as soon as reasonably possible after the service is completed. We may request photographs, inspection access, or other information to assess any complaint. If we agree that a problem arose due to our failure to exercise reasonable care and skill, we may, at our discretion, re-attend to correct the issue, offer a partial refund, or provide another fair remedy as required by law. This is without prejudice to your statutory rights.
We may subcontract or assign suitably qualified personnel to carry out part or all of the carpet cleaning work. Any subcontractor will be expected to comply with these Terms and to act with reasonable care and skill. We may also use professional-grade products and equipment that are intended for the relevant flooring type, but we do not guarantee that every treatment will be suitable for all materials unless specifically confirmed before the appointment.
Personal data supplied for booking and service administration will be handled in accordance with applicable UK data protection law. We will use your details only for purposes connected with the service, including scheduling, invoicing, record-keeping, and service updates. We do not require you to provide unnecessary information, and we will take reasonable steps to keep any personal data secure and properly managed.
Any failure by us to enforce a right or provision under these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of that right or provision. If any part of these Terms is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect. The latest version of these terms will apply to all new bookings, unless a different version has been agreed in writing for a specific contract.
For commercial carpet cleaning work, additional conditions may apply where the premises are subject to site rules, permit systems, health and safety procedures, or access restrictions. You are responsible for telling us about any such requirements in advance. If your business or managing agent requires insurance evidence, method statements, or risk information, we may provide reasonable documentation where available and appropriate.
You agree not to withhold payment, make deductions, or set off amounts unless we have agreed this in writing or you have a legal right to do so. Any dispute about the service should be raised promptly and in good faith. We will seek to resolve concerns fairly and efficiently, but our obligation is limited to the scope of the contracted service and the remedies permitted by law.
The governing law of these Terms and Conditions shall be the law of England and Wales. If you are based in Scotland or Northern Ireland, mandatory local consumer protections may continue to apply where required by law, but the contract itself will be interpreted in accordance with the applicable governing law stated here. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, unless mandatory law provides otherwise.
